Idioms /First conditional

As I told you before , there are in the american language four structures to create conditional sentences. Let's kick the ball rolling by practicing the first conditional. It is formed by the simple present and simple future. In all conditional sentences you will see the word "IF" that means "SE". Take a look on the sentences below and see how it works.

Vamos começar praticando a primeira condicional.

**If Ana is smarter, she will invite me to have lunch with her.
................................................................................................ .
**Ana  will invite me to have lunch with her, if she is smarter.

A conditional sentence is divided by two parts separeted by a comma.
................................................................................................

In the first conditional ,or if clause, a sentence begins in the simple present and ends in the simple future or in the inverse order.

(doesn't/don't/won't)
In the negative statements you should abbreviate the auxiliars.
..............................................................................................

1- Smell a Rat

Lucas' father = How come the front door is opened? Didn't  you close it before we went to bed ?
Lucas = I'm sure I did  daddy . I can't understand it. Frankly, I smell a rat.
Lucas' father = Me, too. I'm convinced that something is definitely wrong here. We'd better call the police.

**** When somebody smells a rat actually he knows that something it's wrong.  For instance, Ana fransoso  is supposed to be home around 11pm after the college but it's almost midnight and she didn't make a call yet. Ana likes things working like clockwork. It smells a rat! Something is definitely wrong.

At the party J.B acted surprised, even though someone had told him what he was getting before the celebration..

**** There are people that can't keep a secret. You better don't tell them anything. Their tongues are bigger than their minds. If you tell them you really told to the world.

___ I got the information from a very reliable source.
***You mean Andrelina told you so herself?

***  Who told you that? This is the question when you know that your secret was discovered. There are many ways for you getting an information. You can get it by reading the newspaper or listening to the radio, or talking to a friend ...and on. But when you know it straight from the source ...your source is totally reliable ...just because you got it straight from the horse's mouth
